Straight From the Heart

Apart from gathering trophies for our achievements like a schoolboy collects stamps, we have also rubbed shoulders with royalty and savored the fruition of our dream of having an in-house ERP system. Thanks to Mr. Homyar Desai and his team of dedicated dudes, we have revolutionized our entire ERP set-up to arrive at a system which has been appropriately christened – HOMYAR. We also take this opportunity to place on record our appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Sharad Todi and his team at Direction, without whom this mission would not have been possible.

And with the completion of a different revolution around the sun, we wish all our readers new beginnings, better tomorrows and a well-deserved respite from nature’s furies across the world.

Hope springs eternal.

- Ketayun S. Desai

Homyar

It has been some years since Jeena has nurtured the dream of having a State-of-the-Art tailor made ERP system to suit our requirements. Our Jeena core team comprising of various personnel from all the fields of our business took up the challenge of turning this dream into reality in the year 2002, dedicating their time, knowledge and expertise in evolving a program conducive to our needs. An equally sincere and committed team from Direction under the able guidance of their Project Manager, Mr. Sharad Todi developed the entire software, extending full support from day one, accompanying the Jeena team to our various Branches for system study and ensuring the successful implementation of the system. Mr. Homyar Desai, Manager I.T., Jeena & Company, spearheaded this mission and with his constant endeavors with his team of expertise, we have achieved our goal of having an in-house ERP system on an all India basis. Many a personnel who were involved in this development came and went but Homyar stood by as a pillar of strength to see this through. As a well-earned tribute to his dedication and hard work, we have proudly named our ERP System ‘HOMYAR”.

  • Happily he set forth to accomplish a mission,
  • Of enriching our patrons with a revolutionary vision.
  • Molded from many a brainstorming session,
  • Yielding returns in a never before fashion.
  • At last with Direction, persistence and intentions well-meant,
  • Raring to go with Jeena’s Integrated Systems Management

Incidentally, HOMYAR - the system, is not the only baby of the Implementation Team. During the course of developing the system, there were other in-house productions as well! Mr. Ashish Parulekar and Mr. Mahendra Dubey from the Jeena Team were blessed with a baby boy and baby girl respectively while Mr. Lakshmi Borwal from the Direction Team became the proud papa of a delightful son!

May God shower His choicest blessings on all four babies!

In Appreciation
  • Dear Naval,
    (Branch Manager, Mumbai Airport Office)
Glad to hear that the instruments all arrived safely in Milan. I arrived at the airport so early I was able to watch the instruments being loaded and the aircraft pushing so I sent a message back to one of my colleagues in London, my wife was actually at his house having dinner with him and his wife!! My taxi ride to the airport was an experience, tried to rip me off over the price after 100 metres from the hotel, wanted 1100 rupees, told him to stop and I would get another cab, settled on 600 rupees in the end, bumped 3 times as we went, nothing more than 2-3 miles an hour, all 3 were where the road converged from 2 lanes down to one. Left at 2130, arrived at the airport at 2310. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all your staff for your help in arranging the flights, both inbound and outbound. It was a pleasure to work with you and Jeena & Co, you are now known as "3 phones" in this office. Please pass our thanks to everybody involved. Could you also thank Vivak / Alitalia as I do not have any contact details for him. If we ever have any business in Bombay we will not hesitate to utilise your services again. Dinner is on me next time, restaurant of your choice. If you are ever in London please do give us call. Hopefully we will be speaking again in the near future.

Best regards,
Andrew Richley,
Aircraft Chartering Services Limited

Come Rain...

July 26, 2005 will not be a day easily forgotten by many in Mumbai. It was the day when a devastating deluge rendered the city crippled and left hundreds of its citizens homeless. Braving all odds, our Airport Office, worst hit by the floods among all our Mumbai offices, remained open throughout the night and the staff worked round the clock ensuring timely clearance of cargo.

“Dear Naval, Your kind presence amongst us was definitely a great help in getting through the trying circumstances of the 26th. Many thanks for organizing the food for all the people marooned at the Jeena office on the 26th evening & making things as comfortable as they could have been ,

given the circumstances. On behalf of all of us at Fedex, once again many thanks for your kind gesture. Warm Regards, Rajesh Bhatia, Regional Manager- Sales Western India, Federal Express Corporation”

During these torrential floods, our Mumbai Seafreight Office received cargo from our Bangalore branch to be shipped to the U.K. Undaunted and unfazed, the staff worked non-stop for forty-eight hours ensuring timely loading of cargo for TMS India Pvt. Ltd. in the most challenging circumstances, so that the customer, always a King at Jeena, continues to remain constantly content.
Kudos to all concerned!

Immersed to the torso – outside the compound of our Mumbai Airport Office.

Bumming it up – Mr. Lal Bhawnani, Manager I.T. and Mr. Sunil Moolchandani, Manager Express Division, wading through the receding waters.

Away from the daily hustle bustle of the city, the staff from our three Mumbai Offices had a rollicking time at Rishi Garden Resort at Panvel throwing caution to the winds in wild abandon and having a gregarious time at the annual picnic.
