Founded in 1900 by Pallonji Katgara and Jamshedji Dastoor, the legacy
continues with the 5th generation of the founding family.
Pallonji Katgara & Jamshedji Dastoor established Jeena in Mumbai, India with a startup finance of US$ 75, a small capital from Jeenabhai. Jehangirji and Kaikushroo started Clearing, Shipping and Warehousing departments and developed Jeena’s Import and Indent business.
Two special decades of various firsts started by Jeena - The first Indian Travel Agency, the first packaged world tour ever, the first ever ‘Shop On Wheels’ train concept, and Official Clearing and Forwarding agent for the defence services.
It became one of the first freight forwarding companies in India to transport cargo by air. Jeena was at the time, spearheaded by Jehangirji’s sons, Nariman and Adi J. Katgara. Opening of various branches rendering specialized services across India. Development of Import and Export, multifarious ‘first time ever’ services to aid trade like Indian Industrial and International Agricultural Fairs took place in these two decades.
Jeena established the travel corporation of india which was spearheaded by Adi and Jehangir Katgara.
It entered into a consortium with Chennai airport and was ranked the No. 3 IATA agent and No.1 amongst Indian companies.
Jeena’s expanse grew ceaselessly across the globe, so did its brand image which had orders pouring in from all over the world, across all categories. Having attained prowess over air and sea routes, Jeena set forth to strengthen itself as a one-stop-shop logistics solution company. This decade also marked Nariman Katgara’s 50 years of association with Jeena.
Opened the largest Quality Inspection Center in Tirupur and other centers in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Jeena was appointed by the ‘Port Of Halifax’ as their Indian ambassador. It entered into a MOU with the Chennai port. It was ranked No. 3 IATA agent and No. 1 amongst Indian companies.
It was honored by Ferrari for ensuring customs clearance and transportation of their formula 1 cars and equipment during their ‘Magic Of India’ tour. Jeena achieved a significant milestone in establishing its first owned international office in Australia.
